ECH Go Plogging

31 July 2018
Written by: CHRIS ULLMAN

ECH go Plogging Thursday Sept 6th 2018 - 18:30pm Lux Park

So what is Plogging ? Basically It's Litter Picking whilst jogging.

We are hoping to hold a few of these a year, one of which will be around the time of the Cornish Marathon to make sure we leave NO litter after the run. As regular runners we will all see lots of litter that we can't stop and pick up whilst we are running. With PLOGGING you do exactly this.

Our plan on the day is to have runners who run on and some PLOGGERS who PLOG along picking up litter. During the run we will swop over so we all get the chance to PLOG and RUN. The total distance has not been confirmed but will either be the normal 5/6 mile run or the 8 mile run. ALL on tarmac!

The route will be around Liskeard and surrounding lanes.

This is a great chance for everyone to get involved and PLOG along so great for ALL abilities and NEW potential members are also welcome to join us on the day. This is also an opportunity to raise the profile of the club and problems we face as a nation with Littering of all types.

The equipment needed has been loaned to us free of charge by Cornwall County Council, they will also collect all litter free of charge at the end of the run.

I realise the PLOG is the day after the Handicap Race, But I am sure it will still be well supported!
