On Friday 17 August 2018 it was round 12 of the Cornwall Road Running Grand Prix. Four Harriers made the long journey on Friday Evening to Penzance to compete in the St Levan 10 k.
This is a very popular event and attracted over 400 runners to St Levan Playing field between Polgigga and Trethewey. The course is mostly a circular route starting and finishing at the playing field.
Ben Harding was first Harrier home in 41m 26 secs an excellent new 10K Personal Best by 30 secs. Chris Ullman was 2nd home in 41m 44 secs a course Personal Best . Ian Littlewood still recovering from injury had a painful run but still managed an excellent 42m 36 secs. Simon Webber was 4th Harrier in 42m 53 secs an an excellent 1st place in his MV 60 age category. . Less than one & a half minutes separated all four Harriers.
Meanwhile on Sunday 19 August Sharon Daw lined up for the start of an Ultra Race the Dorset Doddle – 32 miles of very hilly coast path from Weymouth to Swanage tackling some very steep hills and dropping down to Lulworth Cove passing through Kimmeridge Bay and passing Durlston Castle before ending in Swanage. Sharon finished in 7h 59m. Sharon now has her taget of 100 martahons in 100 weeks well within her sights as well as her 220th marathon.
