Harriers Race Report 3 December 2018

04 December 2018
Written by: JAN SROCZYNSKI

ECH Race Report for 2nd December 2018.

On 27 November 2018 Ian Littlewood was the sole Harrier to run in the 5 Mile Roller Coaster trail race at the Tamar Trails Centre. Five challenging hills in 5 miles give this race its name. Ian put in a brilliant run with his dog Thelma to finish in 34m 39 secs - 2nd CaniCross and 3rd overall. A brilliant run on slippery trails.

On Sunday 3 December it was Round 5 of the Cornwall Multi Terrain Series of 10 races. This was the Race for Wildlife where some of the race entry money goes to Cornwall Wildlife Trust to help with their work.

The 7.5 mile race starts and finishes at Penwith College with a steady 4 mile climb on trails and across field to the moorland – including some stile crossings – before a long downhill to finish at Penwith College.

Nine Harriers made the trip and 1st home was the most improved male runner of the Cornwall Road Running Grand Prix – Ben Harding in 49m 47sec and 3rd in his M 35 -39 age group. Second Harrier in 52m 58sec was Darren Harvey. Chris Ullman 54m 44sec was third Harrier and 4th in his MV 45-49 age Group – a very fine effort. Helen Morse- 54m 49s was first lady Harrier and 4th in her 20-34 age category.. Chairman Rob Pick in fine form came home in 55m 33s and 3rd in his MV 60 -64 age group.

Revis Crowle 55m 35 s was 2nd lady Harrier and 1st in her FV 55 -59 age group. Arron Crowle in hot pursuit of Revis Crowle finished in 57m 11 secs a fine effort. Amy Williams finished in 65m 14 secs and was an excellent 1st in her 35 -39 age group. Mary Mullarkey was 1st in her Female 70 age group in a very fine 1.21.48.

A fine days work for the Harriers collecting 3 first places - 2 third places and two 4th places.
