East Cornwall Harriers is a very friendly club which welcomes runners of all abilities. The club has the following weekly sessions, which all go from Liskeard Sports and Social Club, Lux Park Sports Centre, Liskeard, unless otherwise stated.

East Cornwall Harriers Race Report 17 February 2019.

Sunday 17 February 2019 saw 15 Harriers make the short trip to Bodmin College to compete in the Bodmind Fire and Rescue Half Marathon.

The route starts and finishes at Bodmin College and takes the runners into the grounds of Lanhydrock for a hilly multi terrain route. A tough half marathon and congratulations to the winner Simon Williams who completed the race in 1h 26m 32 s. First female was Alexandra Russell-Small in 1h 36m 36 secs.

First Harrier home was David Robinson in 1h 33m 24secs and 1st in his MV40 age category.

Ben Harding with another fine run to finish in 1h 38m 59s and 4th in his MV 35 – 39 age category.

Darren Harvey with a good run to come home in 1h 41m 49 sec. Helen Morse 1h 48m 47 secs 1st lady Harrier and 3rd in her F U35 age group finished just ahead of Revis Crowle 1h 48m 59 s and Revis was first in her FV 55 age group.

Shane Cuaghey 1h 54m 04 s was next home ahead of Chairman Rob Pick 1h 58m 51.

Michael Egginton had a fine run to finish in 1h 59m 35s. Amy Williams 2h 05m 55 secs with a great performance achieved 3rd in her FV 35 age category. Gary Hut 2h 9m 49 secs was next back.

Nick Page 2h 23m 5 secs just edged out Ann Wendik Byfield 2h 27m 14 secs. Liz Egginton 2h30m 1 sec. just pipped Emma Dales 2h 30 m 19 secs. Leza wall 2h 36m 55 secs completed the field for the Harriers.

Meanwhile down on the South Coast resolute Marathon Runner Sharon Daw lined up to run another 4 Marathons in 4 days and also achieved another award for 10 Marathons in 10 days.

Saxons Normans & Vikings running group organise themed Marathons and half marathons in the South East. Sharon started with the Valentines Day Challenge on 14 February at Samphire Shore near Dover- completed in 5h 6m 1 sec. Next day 15 February the Martello Marathon on a flat course between Folkestone & Hythe taking in several of the Martello towers.- completed in 4h 59 m 38 secs.

Saturday 16 February saw Sharon at the start of the Mods & Rocks Challenge -at Betteshangar Country Park in Kent – which was the original Coal Mining Heart of Kent now restored and reshaped as a Country Park. Sharon completed this in 4h 57m 57 secs. 17 February was the Super Heroes v. Super Villains Marathon the 4th and final for the week also at Betteshangar Country but on a 3.28 double looped course – with the runners split into 2 competing groups. Sharon completed this in 4h 51m 28 secs and then had the very long drive back to Cornwall – to get on with the day jobs as a farmer and County Councillor. The second consecutive weekend of running over 100 competitive miles and 10 marathons in 10 days a brilliant achievement take Sharon over 270 Marathons completed.
