Club Training Sessions - Update

19 September 2020
Written by: ROB PICK

The club committee along with coaches and leaders have reviewed the club position in respect of restarting club training sessions.

The outcome of this is that the club position will stay as it is, with no formal return to club training sessions.

Whilst this may understandably be a huge disappointment, only a very few coaches / leaders felt confident to manage a session in the required Covid-19 secure environment manner at this time. We are also mindful of potential adverse reaction if the club is seen to be ‘flaunting’ in the public perception, Government guidelines.

We will review the situation once again at the end of October.

With the nights drawing in, running in groups becomes more important for safety reasons, since evening runs will be in darkness. Hence, although we greatly encourage members to keep running in their own informal groups (of no more than 6), ‘See and be seen’ (i.e. head torches & hi-viz) remains critical.

Thanks everyone, stay safe
