11 intrepid East Cornwall Harrier met at Golitha Falls car park to Plog the roads around Golitha.

The group spilt into 3 group heading in different directions from Golitha.

One group including myself headed up the Fowey Valley road towards Bolventor (we ran the flat bit towards Siblyback) covering 4 miles and plogging for an hour.

Our group collected 4 bin bags on route. We found all sorts including car parts, motorcycle parts, farmers bailing plastic, sheep’s jaw, rib cage, and scapula.

The weather was a bit soggy but we enjoyed ourself and I got to meet runners I’ve never met before.

The other two groups headed back up towards Redgates collecting towards St Cleer and Liskeard. They also collected for an hour before meeting back at Golitha car park where we regrouped and some headed off for Coffee at Sibleyback (Inkies was closed)

In total approx 8/10 bags of rubbish were collected by the 11 ploggers.

Thank you to

Oliver Jones who lent us the plogging gear

And

Chris Ullman who although carrying an injury drove round after us picking up the filled rubbish sacks.

Don’t worry if you feel like you missed out we are planning on making them a regular event. There is also talk of doing the entire Cornish Marathon route. If you would interested let me know.

Thank you to everyone who plogged today.

Regards

And as it’s coronation weekend “God Save The King”
