What a brilliant day – 3rd October 2021 -for the Virgin London Marathon.

10 Harriers lined up for the most iconic Road Marathon in the world. Elite runners choose London above all others because it simply is the best atmosphere.

In ideal running conditions the race produced some excellent times for the Harriers..

David Robinson beating 3 hours came in as 1st Harrier in 2h 55m 53s. Second Harrier and 1st lady was Diane Roy in 3h 18m 20secs and 3 Harrier 2nd Lady Sharon Daw in 3h 28m 59secs. Two fabulous runs from 2 brilliant athletes.

Marc Doyle in 3h 34m 44s was 4th home and 5th & 6th Kaye Patterson and Clive Shute in 3 h 37. 46secs & 3h 37 m 47 secs. Superb effort indeed.

Seventh Harrier was the resolute determined Jim Lockyer who engineered an excellent job finishing in 4h 29m 41secs. Eighth Harrier the hard working Sarah Steed in 5h 2 min 0 secs. Super run from Sarah. 9 th Harrier Darren Arulvasagam 5h 18m 19secs. Jeanette Turpin 5h 21m 53secs completed the field for the Harriers and raised a lot of money for her favourite charity Parkinsons UK.
